Even more celebrity reality madness

While the list from Briton is impressive, it misses the American celebrity real life content. Just today I noticed a new one, Armed and Famous, where famous actors are given a police training course, guns, and the chance to arrest people. We also have, Hogan Knows Best, which follows the real life trials and tribulations of the famous wrestler and his family. Also, The Surreal Life, where half a dozen famous types live in a mansion together for a month under constant camera scrutiny. There's another one about the children of a Mafia Boss called, Growing Up Gotti. Of course, the one that seemed to start this madness has to be mentioned, The Osbournes, showing the home life of the rocker Ozzy Osbourne.

Hi crpitt,

They're all real, although some don't appear on the major networks, but only on cable. There are probably more that I don't know about.

Hi TC,

I have watched a few episodes of the Osbounes, which is amazingly funny when taken in small doses.

They could call it, Iron Blogger. Two bloggers face off in Computer Stadium and have an hour to post on the Secret Topic. Of course, the winner will be decided by some form of pay-to-vote scheme...

Why wouldn't I be surprised to see that in the TV listings?

There really are so many of these celebrity programmes over here in England, they are also brain numbingly bad quality too.

Does celebrity tv come from America? I sure hope the country I live in created this crap.

About reality shows - a rarely watch them. I have seen a couple of Osbournes episodes and I agree with the grit completely.

I've been offered the chance to star in a reality TV programme showing real life in the jungle. I'll be chasing baboons, eating locusts, mounting females, etc. The name of the show will be 'Big and Hairy'.
